The Life Post | I'm Engaged!!!

SO glad I can finally post this! I've been waiting until I've told all family/friends I wanted to tell in person before this went on any social media/blogging site - basically this is why I've had radio silence since it happened...

Anyway.... I'M ENGAGED! Eek. Still feels so weird to write/say that. After 7 (and a bit) years with my boyfriend (now fiance) he popped the question and I said yes! So how did he do it? Well...

We'd agreed that Good Friday we'd spend some quality time together and had planned to do our food shop in the morning, then go to West Quay in Southampton to do some shopping and go for lunch. So when the alarm went off at 8am I was a) confused and b) annoyed that my lay in had been interrupted... Turns out he'd done a whole surprise day for me! He took me to London for the day and we did a couple of bits. Firstly we went to the London Zoo in Regents Park - we have been before for my 21st and loved it so I was so happy to go back. Then we went to Oxford Circus, did a bit of shopping and then his brother (my future brother-in-law) met us there for coffee and a catch up as he recently moved to London. After dropping him off at Waterloo Adam then surprised me by taking me to the London Eye...

Now, anyone who knows me knows I've wanted to go up the Eye FOREVER and no one so far has agreed to go up with me.. Adam himself saying he'd never go up as it was a glorified ferris wheel... So just him taking me up was a massive surprise and I was VERY excited. Then, at the top... he had to "tie his shoe lace..." and instead got out the ring and asked me to marry him. Of course I said yes straight away and I can't remember the journey back down...

One of the best things so far has been telling people and seeing their reactions. It's been amazing and very humbling to know we have such loving and supportive networks. I now cannot WAIT to plan (may have already started...) and I will definitely be posting some bits and pieces on here - so keep an eye out! In the meantime - any tips for a new bride?!
