How I Wear | Staying In Halloween

It is almost the end of September (already?!) and that means one thing.... its nearly Halloween! I know, bit soon, but my family seem to go a bit crazy for it... The entire front of our house gets decorated - I mean graves in the lawn, motion sensored skeletons, motion sensored hands in the letter box, Dad as a wolf, dog as the devil... You name it we've probably had it.

It has been a couple of years since I've been to a proper Halloween do, or really dressed up, but seeing as my parents make sure a big deal out of it I do try and dress a little grunge on Halloween, you know, getting in the spirit. I have popped said outfit above and I love it.

Red and black is the epitome of halloween for me (night and blood... spookay!). These red leggings are from Topshop, and since I will most likely to be staying in and watching Hocus Pocus whilst we get trick or treaters, leggings is definitely the comfiest option for me. Teamed with this gorgeous black and tartan blouse from Boohoo - you can still be stylish whilst sitting on the couch right? And, because I'm always a cat on halloween, these gorgeous cat ears from Asos. Meooow.

If you are going out for Halloween, I would recommend doing it the right way in a ghoulish costume - it's fright night after all, so you might want to put your scariest self forward. This list predicting the top costumes for 2013 has a few suggestions should you find yourself a bit stuck in this department, or you could simply recycle last years costume!

How I Style | Breton T-shirt

It's been a while since I've done a "how I style" post, so I thought I'd do one with a tshirt I have been coveting ever since I saw it, but been holding back due to funds opps. So, without further ado let me introduce you to Topshop's breton tee in red, I love it! 

Look One | Shopping 

This tshirt is just crying out to be worn with white jeans, it's the perfect look, comfortable and chic. Team with black accessories, chain necklace, boots and bag and you have a colour pop stylish outfit, with the feel of being effortless. 

Look Two | Cocktails

You can't really go wrong with a black midi pencil skirt these days. Incredibly simple, yet stylish. Keep it simple with these gorgeous nude Loubs (red on bottom yes) and Lulu Guinness, classic lips clutch.

Look Three | Beach

Just a typical, classic beach look - and nothing wrong with that! Pale, cut off jean shorts are a no brainer with breton. Team it with wayfarers (real or lookalike), havianas and a woven beach bag and you are good to go!

So there you go, three sure fire ways to chic up one simple tee. It's so good, I may have accidently purchased it while making this post. Whoops!

How I Style | Spring Florals

If there is one thing Spring means for fashion - it's that florals are out in full swing. it's been a little while since I've done a "How I Style" so I thought this was the perfect opportunity...

Picnic with Friends
These H&M trousers are the perfect mix of patterned and flattering. The colours are gorgeous and this lace crop top sets it off perfect, ready to keep you cool. Team that with a floppy hat and sandals and you're set for your girly picnic!

Shopping with the Girls
Distressed jeans are all the range at the moment and are the perfect combo with girly florals, a great balance. These bright red pumps and bag bring out the colours in the floral tee and gives it that definite spring pop of colour.

Date with the Boy
I absolutely love this dress. The colours and shade are so perfectly perfect. Definitely 50's chic, sexy and classy all at the same time. These pink/nude heels are a great pair, elongating your legs and this cute heart bangle is defintitely one for a date.

I love florals. It is one of my favourite prints and is always certain to cheer me up in a bad mood - yay for spring florals!

How I Style: A Country Break

As you may know, I am currently away in the Forest of Dean with my family - so I am probably a bit quiet on Twitter (depending on signal). Therefore I thought this "How I Style" would be incredibly apt!

1. Snuggling up by the fire
What I have probably been doing most evenings! There is nothing better than watching films or playing games all cuddled up in your favourite jeans (usually from Topshop) and a warm cardigan. Team that with some funky slippers and a matching scarf. Tucked in for the evening!

2. Walking the dogs
You need to be comfortable, warm and wear something that you don't mind getting to muddy! The comfiest thing I can imagine is my leggings, classic black is always the best. Team it with a denim shirt with a vest underneath for layers. Then add some Hunter wellies and a white parker-esk jacket and you have the perfect walking outfit!

3. A Pub Lunch
In a forest full of pubs what else can you do but frequent them regularly! I love to dress up a little, but still stay casual. So a floral dress is just the ticket with some tights. Pop on some brown ankle boots and a matching slouchy handbag and you have yourself a pub outfit! Pop a blazer on as well for the outside.

how i style: valentines day

So, I just want to apologise to those anti-valentines readers of mine as today and tomorrow are a bit valentines orientated - just a warning!

Okay so, there are many things someone can do for valentines and these outfits I've tried to reflect loads of different options, all of which involving red.

1. Girly day of Anti-Valentines
For those who hate valentines, a girly day is exactly what you need. Just slouch in with films and chocolate and just enjoy being a girl! Match a comfy red jumper with some pale jeans, ones that show off you figure so you feel fab about you. Then team it with some comfy Uggs and a girly scarf. Voila, hello girl's day!

2. Lunch Date
Whether it's with a girlfriend or a boyfriend this outfit suits both occassions! This H&M dress is gorgeous, casual yet cute and teamed with this blazer you get that incredible pop of colour that makes the lunch seem more formal. Add some gorgeous ankle boots and voila! You're ready for anything!

3. Dinner Date
This is strictly for a date with the boyf. I fell in love with this dress, it's sexy yet ladylike and so so cheap as well! I've popped it with some statement hoops earrings, and although I can't afford them - who wouldn't put these Loubs with this dress... Who wouldn't want them? And what guy could resist you in this outfit... None.

How I Style: Baroque

Baroque seems to be everywhere this winter, and I'm not surprised. I didn't actually realise how much I had in this style until I sorted my stuff out the other day and voila! Lots of baroque! Who knew! Anyway, it's been forever since I've done anything fashion related and it's a nightmare to try and do an OOTD at the mo, so I decided to go a "How I Style" post instead... Hope you enjoy!

Birthday Outfit
I actually have this outfit... well, the skirt and top and books just like it. The top is a basic black peplum which is a must have it any girls wardrobe nowaways and the skirt is a jersey pencil skirt, black with a bronze/gold design from New Look (unforutantely not available anymore). Team together and it's the perfect match. Sometimes I have tucked the top into the skirt and hidden the peplum (Adam prefers it like this) and it's great both ways. Just team with a chunky gold necklace and some black ankle boots and you have my birthday outfit!

Shopping Trip
You can't really go wrong with a blazer and jeans and this cute little peplum is the perfect example of how to jazz up the baroque trend - it doesn't all have to be black and gold! Not only that but it's only £12 in Dorothy Perkins - bargain! Jeans and blazer are from Toppers. I've tried to bring the purple out with these gorgeous slipper-esk pumps from BooHoo and then a basic black bag from H&M to carry all your credit cards in!

Lunch with the Girls
I love teaming cute dresses with chunky knits at this time of years. It's a way of looking cute and smart, but staying warm n chic. I fell in love with this Oasis dress, fitted and in the sale in House of Fraser. Pop it with some classic black tights for a timeless feel and this gorgeous tan cardigan to bring out the golds in the dress. Finally top it off with some cowboy ankle boots to keep your feet comfy.

How I Style: Owls

Owls seem to be everywhere at the moment, and after falling in love with this gorgeous Lavish Alice jumper I thought I would explore what other owly fashions there were and how I would style them for this Autumn!

1  |  I fell in love with this Lavish Alice jumper, it's simplicity and cuteness and was devastated when I saw it was out of stock (it isn't now!). Que chocking back tears. I thought I would team it with my aubergine jeans and some black riding boots and you have the perfect everyday look. Don't forget your snood!

2  |  A girly take on the owl trend, a gorgeous AX Paris skater dress, topped with a comfy jumper, the perfect look for a day shopping with the girls or a lunch date. Team it with some gorgeous brogues and this cute and infamous necklace and you're set!

3  |  This bag is adorable, impractical probably but adorable! Leggins with a long top seems to be my style of choice these days, so this owl blouse is perfect for drinks with the girls. This blazer finishes the look perfectly with some gorgeous ankle boots!

I have fallen for the owl trend I must say, and I am coveting the blouse.. Payday treat I'm thinking..! Or not, seeing as I'm meant to be saving for a house... Wish me luck!

How I Style: Disco Pants

So I am still on my "to get or not to get" disco pants escapade. When in Dublin I came across an American Apparell, saw said disco pants and sighed. So, to help me make this decision I thought I would have a proper think about what I would actually wear with them... So here I popped together four little looks using the Glamorous Disco Pants.

1 | This is probably my favourite, just because it is the most me. I love an over sized top and this River Island one is perfect with the pants. It's a comfy look with a pop of colour thanks to the gorgeous loafers and bright scarf. When wearing blacks and greys, red is one of my favourite colours to team with them as it just adds that extra something I feel.

2 | This is a very sophistacated disco pants outfit I feel! The Topshop lace collar top adds a ladylike feel to this outfit, teams with the beaded bangle and cream wedges and I feel this is the perfect outfit for drinks or dinner with the girls. This top is a little bit baggy as well, which I think works perfectly with the super tight trousers!

3 | This is definitely a date outfit I feel. This French Connection top gives a sophisticated sexy edge, whilst still maintaining some glamour as well. I couldn't help teaming it with this Chanel necklace as well - not that anyone can afford it, but it goes with the outfit perfectly and I just love it! I've popped some mustard heels with this as well, just to add that pop of colour.

4 | A proper slouchy date outfit! I'm thinking shopping with the girls, or wondering around New York in December with my Mummy... (yes less then 3 months to go!). I have a jumper like this and I love it and I think it works perfectly with the trousers to give it a casual feel. Pop in these Miss Selfridge boots and the Alexander McQueen bag and this is the perfect day outfit for Autumn/Winter.
