Nursery Planning & Inspiration

Image from Mamas and Papas

One thing I was always so excited to do when we found out we were expecting was to plan and sort out the nursery. It was something I was determined to have done by the time baby came, and it would be a functional yet cute space. I also wanted it to be something that could last a little while, and suit either gender as we don't know what we're having. But where did I start?

THE HOME DIARIES | Planning my Gallery Wall

When we first moved, over two years ago now, and I found out I would have my own office I knew I wanted a gallery wall. First of all because I just think they look ridiculously cool, but also because I wanted something creative and fun in my office - and something that would inspire me.

The Review | The Hut Triangle Cushion

TRIANGLE CUSHION* THE HUT, 'L' CUSHION DARWIN & GRAY

I love me some cushions. Adam moans about them but I don't know why... Considering he always sits with them on his lap he should love them really. When I was offered this beaut triangle cushion I jumped at the chance. I love getting little bits for the home and cushions really make a place homely. My room at home is pink and green so I loved the idea of getting a pink cushion to match. I love the pattern on this as I think it's really different to usual. It's a good size as well, not too tiny but not to big it becomes a pillow.

The Hut is an amazing website, full of loads of different things including homeware, beauty, toys, games... the list goes on. It even does Essie nail polishes (won me over instantly). I love the homeware pieces, they do great brands like Alessi and Le Creuset. I have a few things on my wish list!

To pop alongside my new cushion I've paired it with my loved "L" scrabble tile cushion from Darwin and Gray - I have an A for Adam as well but that's on a chair somewhere at the moment! L is so much better obviously.... I feel like I have a lot of homey stuff for when I eventually move out so I can't wait!

What would you buy from The Hut?

The Life Post | Little Homey Touches

So, I don't have my own house as yet however I when I get home and pop into my room there are still those little touches that make it mine and make it feel like home. Well, it is home - I have lived here for over 13 years. So let's take a little peak at some of my favourite homey pieces.

I've never really been one for candles until recently. I picked up this beautiful "L" candle holder in France during the summer, I fell in love with it. This little glass tee light holder I got in my stocking, it goes with my room perfectly. Behind this you'll see a mini frame with a "Best of Friends" card my lovely friend Amber gave me.

Last February I went to the Forest of Dean with my family, plus Adam and Hanah (Simon's girlfriend). This is my favourite photo of my family, I love to have it close by so it sits centre of my window sill. My parents also have it as a canvas in their dining room. I love photos, so I also have these photos of me and two of my besties on top of my shelving unit. Mix and match frames which I love and old pics as well. The beautiful butterfly image behind was made by the lovely Paige Joanna for my birthday.

Then we have my favourite place in the world, my bed. I chose it myself when my room was decorated and it is coming with me when I move out. I love these roses across the frame, it's beautifully decorated and I love them. We also have this face which is also usually on my bed. Gorgeous, fluffy Ragdoll, Dougal. He's stupid as anything but seriously cute.

I hope you enjoyed my mini tour! Hopefully when I get my own place you'll get to see even more!

What pieces do you have to make your house a home?
