The Comparison | Marc Jacobs Daisy v Daisy Dream

Ever since I saw this was coming out I've been coveting this perfume. Not going to lie, mainly for the insanely pretty bottle. I've never been a huge perfume person, I don't tend to wear it everyday and when I do I just feel like it doesn't last too long. However Daisy was the first one that changed my mind. As you can see from these pictures there is only about half left - I just love it. It's simple, yet pretty scent. Not too overwhelming but also on you do notice. In my head I've not been too bothered about the other Daisy variations as none are going to be as good as the original surely? However, as I said, this bottle made me covet.

My parents were going to Italy so I asked Mum to keep an eye out for this in the duty free as at the time it was only available at world duty free. Luckily she came back with this beaut and I've been wearing it every day since. Not going to lie, I still love my original Daisy but this is definitely coming to a close second. So what's the difference?

Well the original Daisy is a very classic spring pretty scent. If you're not a huge fan of florals it's fine as it isn't too heavy on the floral scent. It is however definitely based around the floral side with a focus on violet (not daisies...). Daisy Dream is still a very classic spring scent, light and fresh but this one focuses more on the fruitier side with top notes of blackberry, grapefruit and pear. For me I'm not sure why Marc Jacobs have stuck this in the Daisy family as I feel like they should all be a variation of the same theme if they're to share the same "family". However Daisy Dream's scent doesn't belong in this family, it would probably work as it's own stand alone fragrance.

I do love this one and I think it's more of a summery scent then Daisy. Daisy definitely sits on the spring side of scents, light and airy, whereas Daisy Dream is much more summery scented with fruity highlights. I am loving Daisy Dream at the moment and I'm reaching for it everyday. The bottle itself is absolutely divine and probably my favourite every perfume bottle. Marc Jacobs is definitely still my favourite perfume brand and Daisy Dream just reaffirms its position in my heart.

You can now get Daisy Dream in all good perfume retailers as well as Daisy. Daisy Dream 50ml retails at around £50 (varies) and Daisy 50ml retails around £52 (again, varies).

The Review | Marc Jacobs Honey

I've been after this beauty of a fragrance for a while now. It's been on my birthday/christmas list since it was released and luckily my prayers were answered at Christmas. There is just something about Marc Jacobs fragrances that scream buy me buy me! I have a feeling it's because of the bottle designs.

This fragrance is fruity and sweet. Now I don't tend to understand the whole "notes" part of the fragrance, but I did a little research. Top notes are green pear, fruity punch and juicy mandarin. Heart notes include orange blossom, fruit nectars and honeysuckle. The warm base is full of honey, vanilla and smooth woods.

For me, it is very sweet, you can smell the honey. There is definitely sharp fruity scents to it as well, and really it is the perfect summer fragrance. In terms of the winter we are having right now - well I think it's the perfect reminder of what is yet to come!

I love the bottle, it's much more understated than Dot was (review here). The little bees were very cute and it's sitting in pride of place in front of all my other perfumes. If I'm honest, Daisy is still my favourite everyday, but this is giving it a run for its money.

You can get Honey from all good drug stores and take a look at its main site here for all details.

Marc Jacobs Dot

Marc Jacobs Dot (Christmas Present)

I don't wanna pop the price on here as it was a pressie and I don't want to know - plus I think it can be a bit rude if you know how much some bits and bobs are! I have popped a link above so you can have a peek - but don't tell me!

I have been coveting this since it came out months ago and kept squirting myself in Boots on my lunchs. It's a really fruity, flowery fragrance, but it isn't overpowering and it has a subtle sweetness to it. It has a floral heart with jasmine and vanilla. I love the scent and I think it's a really good every day scent and I think it will really come into it's own in the Summer - I can see it being my summer scent!

Now - the bottle. HOW CUTE! If I'm honest this is the reason I was drawn to it. I just love Marc Jacob's perfume bottles. They are the prettiest things and completely different to what else is out there. Love love love.

Overall, I do love this fragrance. It's battling it out with Daisy at the moment as my favourite scent for day wear, so they are just taking it in turns!

Have you tried Dot? What perfume did you get for Christmas?

Best of 2012.... Etc

These are all those other bits that don't necessarily fit into a particular category, but those I still absolutely love!

Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau de Toilette
A brand new fragrance and my favourite at the moment. It's a fab everyday scent, subtle yet incredibly pretty. Floral (which is quite obvious) and incredible cute bottle. I love Marc Jacobs scents and have a review of Dot coming up soon as well!

Soap & Glory Whipped Clean
I couldn't live without this stuff now, which sucks when it's £8 eek! But it's so moisturising and it smells amazing and it lasts for quite a while as well. Would definitely recommend this as a shower cream/shaving cream.

Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub
Another can't live without product. My lips get ridiculously dry and this has definitely saved them this winter. It takes scrummy and is a very easy product to use. Definitely highly recommended.

La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo
An everyday, morning, pre make up spot buster. My skin has never been clearer than when I use this stuff and it has honestly lasted forever. Definitely worth the price tag.

Fade Out White Moisturising Cream
I was always a bit meh about moisturising creams, but this is amazing stuff. It brightens my skin and moisturises before make up. It doesn't aggravate my oily skin either! Thumbs up!

Daisy by Marc Jacobs

Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau de Toilette Spray 50ml

I picked up this little cutie in the Duty Free on my way back from New York, trying to spend my leftover dollars before I got home. I'm a big fan of Marc Jacobs fragrances with Lola already and Dot on my Christmas List and I just love this bottle. After spraying dozens of different perfumes between me and my Mum (and after feeling a bit dizzy due to this) I settled on Daisy. It was the first one I smelt and the one I ended up buying - what does this tell you!

It's a floral fragrance with voilet leaves, wild strawberry and ruby red grapefruit - which makes it a really nice mix of a floral fragrances with a fruity edge. It's sweet, with a touch of sharpness to it thanks to the grapefruit.  I think it's a perfect winter fragrance. Not only that but the bottle itself is just gorgeous. I love all of MJ's bottles, Lola with the huge floral arrangement on top and Dot with it's ladybird theme - they would all look amazing on top of your dressing table.

I got this 50ml bottle for $55, which I believe works out about £40ish. Prices vary across the UK according to the retailer you choose but I think the price is pretty similar to the duty free. Definitely glad I spent my dollars on this cute perfume - definitely an investment!

My Favourite Scents

This post is a little bit something different for me but I thought it could be fun and quite interesting as well, potentially.
So I thought I would share my collection of perfume with you. I'm not one of those girls that wears perfume everyday, but for special occasions or if I just feel like I need to feel good for that day I give myself a spritz of whichever perfume fits my mood.

These are the 5 main perfumes that I use, I do have a couple different ones but I don't really use them so thought there was no point including them.

NYC by Sarah Jessica Parker
I first discovered this fragrance when Mum bought me a mini travel version for a holiday to Egypt for convenience sake, and I have always liked her Lovely fragrance (see below). Totally love this fragrance. It's so summery and fruity. I was usually quite a florally, sweet girl before this but I just love the fruity tones in this. Would definitely recommend it for a holiday scent. I also love the bottle, it's so colourful and mismatch. It's very attractive and again, summery.

Jennifer Aniston Exclusive Fragrance for Harrods, by Jennifer Aniston
Now, I probably love this perfume for the wrong reason. My reasons being that I'm somewhat obsessed with Jennifer Aniston, so when I heard she bought out a fragrance just before my 21st birthday it went straight on my list. It's a very classic fragrance with crisp tones and a definite floral edge. I wear this for my most formal of occasions, just because it is a very special perfume and I really don't want to waste it.

Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker
This is probably my very first regular perfume (if that makes sense). It's a very girly scent with sweet floral tones, but not overpowering at all. It is very sweet. I love the bottle as well, it's just so simple and the lid is very elegant, yet cute. Was the perfect first proper fragrance. Have outgrown it slightly now but still use it on the odd occassion.

Miss Dior Cherie, by Dior
This is my newest and probably my favourite of all my perfumes. It is very similar to 'Lovely' but more grown up. It's not as sweet, yet still has subtle floral tones. It's incredibly light and very refreshing. It can be worn in all seasons and can be both a casual scent, and a formal one. I probably wear this whenever I need to feel that little bit special or if I just want to. Plus, it's the boys favourite.

Lola by Marc Jacobs
This is probably my favourite bottle. It's just so girly and cool - it'd be hard not to love this bottle. As you can see, I accidently left it in a bad on a sleepover and a pen exploded in bag and coated some of the bottle. Bummer. This perfume is incredibly floral, but not a really as sweet as other floral scents, it has more of a sharp scent to it.

So these are my perfumes, my favourites.

Do you use any of these? What's your favourite perfume?
