REVLON COLORSTAY EYESHADOW QUAD IN GODDESS £7.99

I've actually had this for a good few months now, but for some reason I just haven't gotten around to reviewing it. I bought it, used it for a couple of weeks and it seems to have been hidden in the back of my make up cupboard ever since. Opps.

Anywho, this is part of Revlon's ColorStay range and is meant to stay in place for 16 hours. There's a variety of quads to choose from, all of which come with a very handy pic on the back to show you what shade to put where to create the desired look. 

I love the colours in this, I seem to be obsessed with combining pink and greys at the moment - so this seemed like an obvious choice for me, and together the colours go really well in the combination set out by the back of the palette. I'm not a huge fan of the brush provided - it's your standard eyeshadow pad brush type thing, but it seem really rough to me and a bit messy on application. Note to self: must buy proper eyeshadow brushes. In terms of staying power - 16 hours is definitely a bit ambitious - I'd probably say 6/7 hours tops and it's fading.

Overall - I love the combined colours and I think Goddess is a great little twist on a smoky eye with the addition of pink. I would definitely pick up another quad, it's not bad at all for £7.99 and I think they are perfect for creating a set look if you're a beginner in the make up world. Just use a different brush!

Where the hell did July go?! Seriously, it's like I blinked and it's disappeared. Scary. Anywho, it's that time of year again so here we go - this months favourites! I have some oldies and some newies.. and most are due to my holiday - enjoy!

Mac Eyeshadow is Copperplate

This eyeshadow helps to create the most simple, yet gorgeous smokey eye. I love this colour and it's perfect for everyday. I love the matte finish as well. This has been gracing my eyes everyday along with another of my faves...

L'Oreal Super Liner Ultra Precision

Oh my god. This wins favourite of the month. Maybe even the year. It's the most incredible liner I have ever tried and I would highly recommend it to anyone who was looking for an easy, precise, bold liner. It's perfect, long wearing and my ultimate accessory.

Bourjois Cream Blush in Rose Tender

I wore this for the whole of my holiday. It seemed to be completely heat proof, and matched perfectly with my new tan. So easy to apply it was perfect for holidays and long lasting. The perfect summer blush.

Mac Coral Bliss Lipstick

I bought this at the duty free and then wore it every evening of the holiday. It's a gorgeous peach coral, cremesheen so not the longest lasting, but it's so pretty. The perfect summer colour and goes gorgeous with a tan.

Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation

One I've had for a little while, but it's really come into its own in the hot weather. It seems to survive the hot sweats and oily patches of the face. It's also a little darker than my usual tone so it's perfect for a tanned face. It seems to survive the sticky heat better than most BB creams and other foundations I have.

L'Oreal LumiMagique Primer

Again, an oldie and one I hadn't used for a while, but it's graced my cheeks and nose as a highlighter for the past few weeks and it's made a huge difference in terms of longevity of my make up as well.

Batiste Dry Shampoo

And not for the reason you think. On holiday I forgot to take powder. So I tried this instead, close eyes and a quick spritz on the face after make up and instantly dried up any sweaty/oily patches and took away all shininess. Was actually perfect for this.

Piz Buin After Sun

A complete god send on holiday. I popped this on every evening and morning and any red bits soon disappeared into a gorgeous golden brown, and with minimal soreness as well. I also LOVE the smell. It's a great dupe for Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess if you're on a bit of a budget!

Life | A Little French Wine

Anyone who knows me knows I can't resist a good wine. Or an average wine. Just any wine really - expect maybe red that is. So when my parents told me there was a little chateau just five minutes walk away from our villa - well I was away!

I popped down with my Dad, Mum and Uncle to see Lauren, son of the owner of Chateau La Voulte Gasparets, a gorgeous little winery that makes a very small selection of wines. One white, one rose and three reds. I got to taste the white, rose and one of the reds. The white was a gorgeous dry fruity drink that's so easy to drink. I'm usually a bit wary of white as I'm not a fan of dry, but this is just the right amount.

The rose is probably one of the nicest wines I've ever tasted. Not dry, but not too fruity, it's gorgeous. Then there was the red I tried, one I could actually drink! Probably the first ever.

We had a look around, took a peek at some of the old machines used to crush grapes - I was incredibly disappointed to see no feet crushing methods. I kinda wanted to try that... Though there is now way I'd want to drink it after my feet had touched it. And this HUGE room full of barrels. Seriously, I was in seventh heaven.

If you go to the Languedoc region I would definitely recommend visiting a chateau. It's a great experience and you get to try some gorgeous local wines. A bit hit for me and the Hearn clan!

Make Up | Super Eye Team

Step forward my super eye team. I don't know about you, but when I find products that just work perfectly together I just have to rave about it. Maybe it's the blogger in me... Or I just like to talk who knows?!

Anyway, I've been using the L'Oreal Telescopic for a few months now and it is my go to mascara - whenever I want an extra little pop or to feel that little bit special I pop this on. It lengthens, thickens and just adds that little something extra.

Very recently I have found the perfect pairing to this super mascara. The L'Oreal Ultra Precision SuperLiner is my new baby. It creates a dramatic, yet wearable, line that stays all day along with the mascara and I think the two together just create that perfect pairing of mascara and liner.

L'Oreal win in terms of eyes for me - these two are my everyday eye make up at the moment, added with a bit of eyeshadow for colour but ultimately - these are my heroes.

Life | Holiday Reads

There is one thing that I love to do on holiday - that is read. To me a holiday is sitting by the pool, in the sun, with a good book by my side. Bliss. This holiday was no exception - so let me fill you in on what I read on holiday...

Everyone Worth Knowing by Lauren Weisberger

After reading Revenge Wears Prada I searched for any other Weisberger books for holiday. I've read all except this one so downloaded it and it was the first one I read. Honestly, this book took me the longest to read on holiday and it was one of the shortest. It's about a woman called Bette who starts working for a events company and her adventures. It wasn't that it wasn't a great book - it just felt very Devils Wear Prada to me. It had the same underlining story of girl gets new job, job takes over life, alienates her from others, dramatically quits etc. Same formula, but it just didn't work as well for me.

A Hundred Names by Cecelia Ahern

I love Cecelia Ahern. I love her imagination, the way she turns "chick lits" (I hate that name btw) into something a little bit different. It's never just about the romance - it's about the story and the people within it. This is about journalist Kitty who loses her mentor to cancer and has to write her mentors last story from a list of 100 names - and no synopsis. It's gorgeously written, witty, funny and you fall in love with the characters. I loved it. Which showed when it took me all of about 5 (ish) hours to read and finish. Loved it. I would definitely recommend this and I'm already on another of hers.

Elemental Mysteries Series (Books 1 - 4) by Elizabeth Hunter

Basically another vampire saga, with a bit of a difference - as they all our. This one is centered around Giovanni, vampire who can control fire and Beatrice, or B, a mortal - and yes you guessed it, they fall in love. I actually loved this though. The characters, though vampires, are relatable. The relationships are so well portrayed and the books are really well written. For me, this is on a par with Twilight - but with sex. I would definitely recommend this is you like Twilight, but have grown up a bit since then.
