It actually kind of pains me to write this post. Making me sad, however - let's leave the sad stuff until after. As you all know I'm an oily skinned kinda gal, so as soon as a new matte foundation comes on the market I'm straight there - especially if it's a budget one. Enter Rimmel Stay Matte foundation. A hybrid of a moose and liquid, though leaning more towards mousse, this is a new type of foundation for me.

Mousse foundations have scared me since the whole Dream Matte Mousse years of teenagedoom, but I was intrigued by this - and rightly so. I love how easy this is to apply, how nicely it applies and how soft it is. It blends in beautifully and has great medium coverage, perfect for the colder months. The shade I have is a little bit darker than needed probably but it's working at the moment with my tan left over from the sun. Overall, this is a really nice foundation. It keeps my skin nice and matte, the shine is at bay and I look like a slightly flawless person.

Now is the sad bit... After about a week of loving this and swooning over it's brilliance and price, then came the spots. Major major turn off for me. I don't know what it is with me and Rimmel's foundations! I love them, they are lovely lovely foundations, but they always bring me out in spots and I don't know what it is. Having said that - I do still use this on the odd day that I need that little bit extra coverage or a velvety soft finish, it's just not one that I can use everyday.

Outfit | Choo-sing the Perfect Skirt

This really is the perfect skirt. I found this in a Jack Wills outlet for the reduced price of £29 - still quite pricey really for a skirt but I completely fell in love. It's a gorgeous silky material that is comfy, graceful and just fits and suits my figure perfectly. I decided to show it off for a girly night out the other weekend. Was the perfect outfit, and the perfect girly night.

Now, I also thought this would be the perfect time to introduce you guys to my price and joy, my Jimmy Choos. I got these for my 21st birthday... I went for a nude/black pair but the show assistant bought out these and you know what, I've never looked back. Silver sparkles with gold netting/stitching. These really go with everything. 

I really do like this outfit. It's very 50's and perfect for a curvy figure like mine. This skirt now has price of place in my wardrobe and the Choo's are safely wrapped back in their box...

MAC MINERALIZE SKINFINISH IN ADORED £22

First of all let's just take a second to swoon over how pretty this is. Swooooon. Probably the main reason I got it as I'm still not really sure what it is meant to be. Blusher, powder, highlighter? Who knows... What I do know is what I use it for and I love it for that.

It's described by Mac as a velvet soft powder, ideal for highlighting. Which luckily is exactly what I've been using it as. I pop this on with my buffing brush lightly on my face as a powder, so it's not too shimmery, and then with a blush brush on the apples of my cheeks for more of a highlight on top of my blush. It's really buildable so you can see the difference and it's also such a pretty colour.

Adored is described as a coral with a light pearl beige running through it - which you can see. To be honest I don't see a lot of colour on my face apart from the shimmery pearl, which I do love, so if you want this as a blusher you need to look elsewhere - you won't get a colour pay off here.

For £22 it's not too bad. To be honest you expect to pay a bit more for Mac more for the brand then the product. What I will say is I have little confidence in the packaging - I've only had it a couple of weeks and already it's threatening to come out of the pan and the lid is looking a touch flimsy. Otherwise it is a truly gorgeous product.

CLINIQUE CHUBBY STICK IN TWO TON TOMATO

Not going to lie, I am LOVING my gateway reds at the moment. What is a gateway red you ask? Well thank you for asking... Basically, it is a red toned lip product that isn't your full pow HELLO red. It's a gentler red that eases you in to the scary world of red lips.

This is a prime, perfect example and I LOVE it. I got this from the same store as my Mac Daddy's Little Girl at a reduced price of £11 (usually £17) and I am so chuffed with it. I have one of the Chubby Sticks (see here) and have been eager to try another but I swear they have gone up in price so have avoided it, until this little beauty fell into my lap... And naughty Paige is bad at influencing me to buy things (bad Paige).

So anywho, as with all Chubby Sticks, they are my favourite lip crayon product as they are smooth and moisturing and just so comfy on the lips. They have a subtle sheer to them that makes them very wearable and enough pigmentation to say hello I'm not natural. This is a gorgeous red toned crayon, which as I've stated is a gateway red - so perfect for those who want to dip a toe. Longevity isn't fantastic as with all sheer lip products, but while it lasts it really is very pretty.

At £17 these do break the bank slightly, the best dupes I found so far are the Bourjois Color Boost crayons. I do love the Revlon Just Bitten Balm Stains, but they are a bit more matte than these so if you do want an exact dupe go for the Bourjois ones.

Little Things | #1

So, lately things have been a bit up and down, and I was so fed up with being down that I decided to focus on the little things that made me happy. So, to keep it up I thought I would commit to doing it on the blog. So every Sunday I'm going to do a Little Things post - the things that had made me happy during the week.

I didn't see the boy much this week but when I did it was great. Last night we went to his Mum's surprise 50th party and it was so much fun. We've been together for nearly six years now so it was nice to spend the time with his family and friends and be comfortable.

You will also see this dress. I bought it about three/four weeks ago as I fell in love with the pattern, fit and just general beauty of it. I always feel that little bit more special when i have a gorgeous dress on that makes me feel good about myself.

Today I am puppy sitting as my parents are out for the day. And here he is - snuggled like a teddy bear with me. He is the cutest thing and when I am feeling down a cuddle with this one is definitely one way to cheer me up. Just look at the face!!

My bestie Amber has lent me Series One of the Vampire Diaries - I have seen most of it but after that I kinda stopped watching it. I am loving it again so far - I must say that at this moment in time I am totally in love with Stefan.

Also, I had a special little delivery this week of two Mac lippies - both from their Retro Matte collection. Ruby Woo I've been after for a while and after swatching it at Paige's I knew I had to have it, and Relentlessly Red is a gorgeous bright pink. Love both!
