The Review | Maybelline Fit Me Powders

You may have seen in my recent mixed beauty haul video that I purchased two products from the Maybelline Fit Me range - the pressed powder and bronzer. Now I used to stay away from Maybelline products - thanks dream matte mousse foundation - but recently I've fallen so in love with so many of their products so when I was looking for a powder and new drugstore bronzer I decided to give them a whirl. So how have they faired?

When this came through I got incredibly excited because at first glance it looked like an exact match for my Benefit Hoola - my ultimate go-to bronzing shade. After swatching it I was initially a little disappointed as I didn't get much colour pay off. However, first time I applied this I fell a little bit in love. It is slightly more grey toned than Hoola so it's a lot more suited to contouring which I really like. It isn't ridiculously pigmented, but I do actually like that about it. I can swipe it on my face and not have the fear that I look over tanned or like I've applied too much bronzer...

I really do like the finish this bronzer gives, it's more of a subtle contour and colour than making you look tanned - it just adds a bit of life back into my skin.  My one disappointment is it doesn't tend to last all day, but otherwise it's a beautiful bronzer.

I've never been a big powder fan before, however lately I've noticed my undereyes looking a bit greasy and shiny and that's really just not on. I tried one of my friends and loved it, but decided to try something different and picked this one out. Firstly it's not transparent so it gives extra coverage so is the perfect touch up powder - it even has a mirror and pad - parfait! It's completely matt so no shimmer or highlight which I like. It completely mattifys any shiny areas and keeps them like this for most of the day which I find incredible.

I can't think of much I don't like about this powder. I would say it's a touch lighter than my skin tone so I think when I get a bit more tanned I could come up with some issues, however for my pale spring skin at the moment it is perfect.

I cannot wait to try some more products from their Fit Me range, the concealer is next on my list - I'm definitely in a concealer testing mood right now so I'll let you know how I do with that. Until then, these two are just going to live on my face.
