The Comparison | Bumble and Bumble vs Aussie

Keeping my hair nice and tame often feels like a full time job (sigh). Hands up if you feel the same! Finding products that help to control frizz and help to keep it nice and sleek, even when it's been salt sprayed or curled is definitely worth the mission. These two products are the ones I've found that really do the trick, but in a couple of different ways...

The Bumble and Bumble BB Straight Blow Dry is specifically for making your hair sleek and straight. You pop a pea sized amount into the palm of your hand and run it through the lengths and ends. Then dry - this is incredible and smoothing any frizz and keeping your hair straight. The only downside I've found is it is a tad heavy on my thick hair. Also, if you use this then pop some salt spray in to give it a tousled look it really doesn't work - this balm overpowers the salt spray completely.

The Aussie Dual Personality and Anti Frizz Conditioning Milk is used in exactly the same way. However, this isn't a straightening balm so you can use it with salt spray to get rid of any frizz and you'll still get the tousled look you're going for. Also I've found it's not nearly as heavy as the Bumble and Bumble version. If you want to use this to help keel your hair straight when you dry it don't bother, it will keep it sleek and frizz free but it won't keep it straight like the Bumble and Bumble product.

Basically it depends on what you want as to which you should go for - I use these for different things. If I want to blow dry my hair straight I throw the Bumble & Bumble on - but I'm using smaller and smaller amounts because of the heaviness. If I want something a little less "done" and a bit more "undone" I throw on the Aussie version and spray in some of my favourite salt spray and scrunch. Then rough dry with a hairdryer.

Obviously price wise the Aussie wins out as it is much more purse friendly - I only have the Bumble and Bumble product because I got it in the sale. Both products are amazing at what they do and I honestly couldn't live without either of them - however, if I had to loose one it would probably be the Bumble and Bumble. I can straighten my hair and the Aussie product does keep is sleek, however I can't live with frizz - therefore I just couldn't throw away my Aussie beaut!

Which would you use and how?

Shop my Stash #3 Aussie Miracle Moist

Yes, I know, I've spoken about this set before (a few times) but I've never actually done a proper review on this, so I thought I would add it into my Shop my Stash series.

I first used this when I bought the travel version when I went to Dublin in September. It was love at first lather. It was a mixture of the smell, the amount of lather and just the general feeling of using it in the shower. Which I know, sounds weird, but that's how it felt.

Not only that, but it left my hair feeling really soft and really healthy. My hair hasn't been in the greatest of health since the accidental black incident, but this set made it feel happy and healthy again and it made it look like it had a new lease of life.

I would definitely recommend giving Aussie a go. They have a wide variety of ranges to suit all different hair types. My Mum uses them as well and loves them so it's definitely a brand for all types!

Have you tried Aussie? Which range is your go-to?

What's in my Shower

Okay, so I know this could be seen as a little weird but I wanted to just give you guys an insight into what I am currently using when I pop into that little box called a shower. Products I use in there seems to change on a monthly basis - it basically depends on what I have in my cupboard at the time or what I have to use. So without furthur ado - here is my shower routine.

The first thing I use in the shower is the VO5 Hot Oil Moisture Soak Elixir. I basically use the suggested amount and smooth it into wet hair, mainly in the lengths and the ends. I try to avoid my roots as I don't want them to get too greasy and oily but it works really well in the tips of my hair. I leave this is for a minute to really absorb and whilst I am doing this I use my Body Shop Strawberry Body Polish to exfoliate. What I really like about this is that it isn't too scratchy, I hate really scratchy exfoliators. This has walnut pieces and kiwi seeds in it to really get rid of all the dry skin and dirt and it just smells incredible.

Moving onto shampoo, I have about three different types that I may use. The first is Bumble & Bumble BB Sunday Shampoo which is my main clarifying shampoo. I use this about once a week to really give my hair a good wash. I also have DGJ Organics Hangover Shampoo, which is another clarifying one, that I tend to use on really special occassions or when I've used way too much product on it the night before. My normal shampoo and conditioner combo is Aussie Miracle Moist, which I use once a week when I don't use a clarifying one. It's just a really nice normal moisturising set that I cannot get enough of.

Finally, when I have my conditioner in my hair and I'm leaving it to soak it up, I use Soap & Glory's Whipped Clean Shower Cream to give me an extra clean and I also use it as my shower cream. It's so moisturising, really smooth and smells great. Pricey but so worth it!

So basically this is how I stay nice and clean and not smelly! I hope you liked it, a bit different from the usual reviews I do, but I've enjoyed doing it so I hope you've enjoyed reading it!

What products do you swear by in the shower?

Best of 2012... Hair

Next up is hair! This is the first year I've really set up my own hair routine and have it actually behave... so let's take a peek at the products that make it possible!

Aussie Miracle Moist Shampoo & Conditioner (review to come)
Technically it's still two product... So it counts as 2 in the top 5. Basically the most hydrating pair I've used all year and the minis are really convenient for travel. Smells incredible too!

Bumble & Bumble BB Sunday Shampoo
A cleansing shampoo that literally reviatalises and cleans everything. Think incredibly squeeky hair. A tad overpriced for me, but nothing has come close to replacing it yet!

VO5 Hot Oil Moisture Soak Elixir
To begin with I wasn't too sure, but now I am completely hooked. My hair has never felt softer and healthier. Lasts for about 5/6 washes and isn't too bad a price really! Already repurchased...

Charles Worthington Rough & Tousled Salt Spray
My first experience with a salt spray, and it doesn't quite do what I imagined, however it does help provide texture and just a bit more oomph! And very handy size for the handbag too!

Aussie Dual Personality

Aussie Dual Personality Anti Frizz an Conditioning Milk £4.99

I have recently fallen a bit in love with Aussie and their range of hair products. I got this little beauty as part of a 3 for 2 offer in Boots. Now, if I'm honest I don't usually give much creit to anti frizz products as I've never really found that they really do anything to me hair, apart from weigh it down. But I thought no, I'll give it a whirl!

I'm glad I did, I have been using this on wet hair and it has helped to tame my frizzy locks. More than anything it's helping to keep my hair healthy in this cold, drying weather. I'm not gonna lie, it does weigh my hair down slightly, but not as much as most other products I've used and I love the effect it has on my hair so!

I wouldn't say it's a frizz miracle, it does tame but not completely but it is a nice product and it's one I would happily buy again and recommend.

What anti-frizz treatment works for you? How are you keeping your hair nice in the cold weather?

Aussie Fashion Show

On Saturday I was invited to go to the Aussie Fashion Show in London at the Future Gallery to celebrate the release of their bigger bottles. It was great fun and the first fashion show I've ever been to so I was really excited!
I went up with a couple of my besties Amber and Andra and we had a lovely girly day!

L to R: Amber, Me and Andra
Amber is wearing: Blazer H&M, Vest Dorothy Perkins, Jeans Topshop, Heels Dorothy Perkins.
I am wearing: Blazer H&M, Scarf Topshop, Tshirt Topshop, Leggins River Island, Heels New Look.
Andra is wearing: Blazer H&M, Top New Look, Leggings h&M, Heels New Look

The fashion show feature clothes from Minkpink and Eviltwin, both of which can be found on Asos and Urban Outfitters.

These were my 4 favourite looks from the show. I love the first look, so cute with the denim skirt and white blouse, really like and girly! I also love the floaty dresses, perfect for Spring and Summer coming up! The last look is so incredible glamorous - if I had the stomach for it I'd be rocking it!
If you look through Urban Outfitters and Asos you can find bits of these outfits, however I did have problems finding most of the pieces! But it is worth having a look if one takes you fancy.

These were the other outfits from the show, some of them really playful, young and trendy and perfect for the current weather! You'll also see a collage of bits and bobs from my day with the girls at Aussie. Including a pictures of their GORGEOUS cupcakes... was such a shame to eat them cause they looked amazing... but they tasted soooo good!

Thanks Aussie for a great afternoon! It was so amazing and had such a great girly day out!
