The Review | Nuxe Creme Prodigieuse DD Creme

I'm always a bit sceptical of alphabet creams - BB, CC, now DD? Is there an EE yet that I just haven't seen? Anyway, while I was in France this summer I wanted to try some Nuxe products and decided to pick up their new DD cream. But what does a DD cream actually do?

This is a daily defence cream, hence the initials, and is meant to moisten and beautify the skin, with SPF of course. The Nuxe Creme Prodigieuse DD Creme is a new(ish) offering from Nuxe that is made for all skin types, with SPF 30, it's also anti-polltion and anti-oxidant. I bought it in the shade light and have been using it generally as my Sunday no-make up make up day base.

The light shade is actually quite dark, as in darker than my normal skin tone so if you do have pale skin you need to keep this in mind. It was okay when I had a bit of a tan, but now it's fading I have to really work to buff it in so I don't get that different head/neck syndrome. Saying that, it does mean you don't have to really use bronzer as well. Moving on, I find I don't need a lot of this - a little really does go a long way and it's incredibly buildable - as long as you buff it really well. It has a very natural finish, it's not matte or dewy, it's just like a second skin really and very comfortable to wear.

It lasts really well throughout the day which is great and something I love, and other products blend and work really well on top of it (cream blushes in particular). I would highly recommend this as a no make up day product, it does look beautiful. My only one issue with this is that it does tend to break me out in places which is a pain, but definitely worth it  as I do still use it as my Sunday base.

What's your Sunday base?
