The Dupe | Clinique Chubby Stick v Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker

I know, there have been a LOT of chubby stick dupes in the drugstore. It even got to a point where I refused to buy any more lip crayon-esk products because I was so bored of the whole thing. However, Clinique's Chubby Sticks were the first to market and honestly - not many of the drugstore brands managed to remake the same formula, until this one.

So currently in Boots you can get lip crayon products from every brand. However, some are very different to others. Revlon have matte lip crayons, Maybelline have bit bold Nars dupes, and Bourjois have glossy sticks. This thing about Clinique's Chubby Sticks is that they are a tinted balm more than anything else. They are nourishing, light, and with a touch of colour - nothing too pigmented. This is why I quite like them. Well, I like them a lot actually. I found not many drugstore versions had the same properties, until I tried Soap & Glory's Sexy MotherPucker Gloss Stick range. Then I found my drugstore dupe. This is definitely a tinted balm, and although slightly more pigmented than the Chubby Sticks - it still maintains that product title and nourishes the lips as well. But how does it really compare?

Pigmentation & Colour
The thing with the Chubby Sticks is that I think people forget it's meant to be a tinted balm - which means it's not supposed to have a huge amount of pigmentation. However, it does have some and I actually really like the level of pigmentation that comes with these. It's just enough to give a sheer cover of colour, but not too in your face. With the Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick nowhere does it say it's supposed to be a tinted balm - it says gloss stick. However, I do like more of a sheer wash of colour with my glossy shades then full on pigmentation so I'm glad this isn't as highly pigmented as a lot of other lip crayons. I would say this is slightly more pigmented than the Chubby Sticks, but I'm not surprised as it is marketed as a different product. It's hard to pick a winner for this one as they are marketed as different products (even though they are basically exactly the same). I do prefer the colours and the range of colours you get with the Chubby Sticks so I would say that JUST wins this category for me.
Winner: Clinique Chubby Stick

Lasting Power
Because the Chubby Sticks are just tinted balms they don't have the best lasting power. They do stay for a couple of hours, but really the colour fades quite quickly but the finish stays very nicely. The Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Sticks stay a lot longer than the chubby sticks, they do last a good four hours before the colour fades and the colour lasts as long as the finish which is nice.
Winner: Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Sticks

Finish
They both have a really nice finish and are both perfect for the current warmer months. They give a sheer coat of colour with a nice subtle gloss finish, nothing too lip gloss like, just a really nice natural touch. They both feel very comfortable on the lips to wear as well, light, not sticky and nourishing. The Chubby Stick is a balm so it is just the slightly more comfortable to wear and just a touch more nourishing. But quite honestly there really sin't much in it again. They feel like the same sort of product on the lip and they both have the exact same finish - I can't really pick a winner in this category!
Winner: Both!

So it's a tie! They are marketed as different products but honestly, they are both so similar in formula and feel it could be the same range. This is the only crayon on the high street I've found to come close to replicating the Chubby Stick formulas and I love them.
