The Favourites | Drugstore Morning Skincare for Oily Skin

You would have seen earlier in the year I popped together both my morning and evening skincare routines on YouTube, however as it gets warmer my morning routine diminishes slightly and those mornings there I have to rush to work, it gets very minimal. However, there are a few choice products I currently wouldn't dream to leave out of my morning routine and guess what - all of them are under £10...
As a brief intro - I have oily skin. It gets a bit dehyrdrated on my nose but otherwise it's oily on my cheeks, inbetween my brows and my skin. Around 'that time' as with all girls I get a few blemishes around my chin as well. So my routine attempts to combat these.

1 | Cleanse
In the mornings I literally tend to just do a quick micellar water cleanse. It just gets rid of any build up of dirt from over night or any make up sneakily left behind from the previous evenings make up removal mission. At the moment I'm using Nivea's Daily Essentials Sensitive 3in1 Micellar Water as it's amazing at removing left over eye make up and really giving your face a deep cleanse for such a light cleanser. It's also really gentle on the skin as well so perfect for dehydrated and dry areas.
Good alternatives: Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water | La Roche Posay Physiological Micellar Solution

2 | Tone
I find my toner of choice really helps with blemishes and I find in general toners make a big difference for blemishes to me. For a while now my go to has been the La Roche Posay Serozinc Spray - not available in a drugstore but definitely a drugstore price and currently discounted on Escentual. I just give my face a quick spritz of this all over, a couple extra on my chin, and then left it dry by itself. If you're in a rush you can encourage its drying time by fanning your face but I think it's better if you just leave it to do it itself - I tend to brush my teeth while I'm waiting for it to dry.

3 | Moisturise
For a long time I stayed away from using a moisturiser for the day, and even for night I go for a serum instead of a moisturiser at the risk of annoying my oily skin. However, I've recently picked up the Body Shop Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream and it's amazing. It's more a gel consistency so it's not too heavy and it sinks in quickly and mattifies whilst smoothing out my dehydrated areas. It's JUST over the £10 mark at £11 - however I got it for a discount so it was only £9 when I got it. I LOVE this and it's a massive asset to my routine as the weather gets warmer.

It really is as easy as 1,2,3 in the mornings for me at the moment. Although it is super simple it is doing the trick and my skin has never felt or looked better in the warmer months. If you have oily skin like me I would definitely recommend checking out The Body's Shop's seaweed range. Their Ionic Clay Mask is one of my favourites and I have my eyes on the night treatment next.

  1. For me, moisturiser is important even if you have an oily skin because oil can't moisturise skin. Great post xo
