Beauty | Budget Autumn Face

Autumn is officially here. The brisk mornings, the fallen leaves and the start of Strictly and X Factor. This also brings around the change in colour palettes dominating my make up drawers. Corals and pastels move to the bottom and back of the drawers, whist berries and bronzer s find their way to the front. With that in mind I created an autumnal make up look, which I've fallen in love with.

For autumn I really love a flawless base, with highlighted cheeks, golden tones and berry lips. I used this as my inspriation.

Base & Face
I used the L'Oreal Infallible Matte Foundation and applied it in two thin layers. This helps to maximise coverage but also helps the make up last longer. It's a high coverage, matt base so creates a really flawless base. If you want to add some dewiness then mix it with a little bit of liquid highlight as well. For extra coverage I used the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer on blemishes and spots, and for some lightness I used the Maybelline Dream Lumi-Touch Highlighting Concealer. This went under the eyes to brighten, down the middle of my nose and on my cupids bow.

For the cheeks, I used the Maybelline Master Sculpt Contouring to do a subtle contour in the cheek bones, and then up on my temples and cheeks. I then highlighted along the cheek bones and around the eyes in a "C" shape. Lastly I took the Max Factor Creme Puff Blush in Gorgeous Berries to give a lovely plum shade to the cheeks. It also has a little bit of shimmer to help with the highlight. It is the perfect autumn blush shade.

Eyes
I had so much fun on the eyes. I usually have a limited amount of time to get ready in the mornings so it's a quick base shadow and liner. I wanted to do something different for this autumnal look. I used the Maybelline The Nudes Palette. I highlighted the inner corners with the highlight shade in the palette, then took a bronzer shade and covered the entire lids with this, making it darker in the crease to add a little smoke and definition. I also put this along the waterline as well. Then I took the beautiful gold and dabbed this in the middle of my lids. This looks gorgeous and acts as a highlight in a way, making the eyes pop and adding more definition. Lastly, I took the No7 Stay Perfect Shade & Define in Coffee Bean and used this to line the top lid. To finish it off I covered by lashes in Maybelline Lash Sensational for long, voluminous lashes. I also used the waterproof version because let's face it, this is the english weather we're talking about here.

Lips
Last we take on the lips. This is probably the biggest difference for this season. After scrubbing my lips free of all dead skin I lined my lips with the Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in Obsession, and then filled them with Rimmel Kate Matte in 107. This is the perfect autumn berry shade. If you're not brave enough to go full berry then you can apply this with a brush so it's not as pigmented.

  1. I love the base products you used. L'Oreal Foundations are some of my favourite. And yes to Strictly being back!
