Trends | Lipstick Tag

Look another lipstick post. And this is a new type - I've actually made my own "Lipstick Tag". I will be doing this for other areas as well... eg. eyes, face, skin care etc. But I thought it'd be fitting to start with lipstick. Feel free to do it yourself, let me know if you do as I'd love to see it - hope you enjoy!

Best Drugstore Lipstick Brand
This was a toughy as there are different ranges that I love, but I have to say every lip product I've tried from Bourjois has come out a winner for me. It was a toss up between this and Revlon, but Bourjois just pipped the post. In particular I love their Rouge Edition Lipsticks and the Color Boost Crayons.

Best High End Lipstick Brand
Got to be MAC for me. Whenever I have the opportunity to buy a higher end one I head straight for the MAC website and order the next of my wishlist, I don't even tend to look at others - bad I know! I just love the range of colours, the pay off and the different finishes. Satin is definitely my favourite finish.

Longest Lasting Lipstick
Definitely Revlon's ColorStay Suede Lipsticks. I have two of these and both stay for HOURS at a time. I popped my red version (Finale) on for a night out, didn't have to reapply once and woke up with it still in tact. There is a huge range as well - I would definitely recommend these for longevity.

Favourite Everyday Lipstick
I love 17's Mirror Shine On in Belle - a gorgeous my lips but better colour. I am also loving MAC's Fanfare, a natural pink that again, blends it but gives a bit more colour than usual.

Favourite Night Out Lipstick
At the moment I am loving MAC's Pink Nouveau, a gorgeous 80's pop pink that lasts a good couple of hours, or Revlon's ColorStay Suede in Finale - a lovely red that lasts all evening and doesn't dry out. It's a classic bright red.

Favourite Tinted Lip Balm
Revlon Lip Butters - I love these. Bit pricy for a balm really, but they are just a really nice product to keep in your handbag to top up the moisture and also the colour.

Worst Lipstick
I really hate to say it, and I don't think it's going to be a popular opinion, but for me it's the Topshop lipsticks. Sorry! But everyone I've tried has been really drying and the colours just haven't been what I really wanted. Everyone else seems to love them though so I don't know if it's just me...

Most Moisturising Range
Definitely Rimmel's Moisture Renew. I have a couple of this range and love how they feel on the lips. Great colour pay off as well, but really do love how moisturising they feel.

Top 5 Summer Lipsticks
MAC Coral Bliss, Pixi Tinted Brilliance Balm in Craving Coral, L'Oreal Caresse in Lovely Rose, MAC Crosswires and Bourjois Rouge Edition in Fraise Remix.

Top 5 Autumn Lipsticks
MAC Plumful, Rimmel Kate Matte in 107, MAC Liner in Cherry, Revlon ColorStay Suede in Trendsetter and Clinique Chubby Stick in Super Strawberry

Top Three Lipsticks You Couldn't Live Without...
1. Revlon ColorStay Suede in Finale
2. Bourjois Rouge Edition in Shade 04
3. MAC Coral Bliss

I hope you enjoyed it... bit more questions that I originally anticipated opps! Again, let me know if you do it as I'd love to see it!

  1. I love reading tags! Ive not seen anyone else do the lipstick tag.
I think Revlon are a great brand for lipstick, such a wide selection. I love the look of MAC's Pink Nouveau - what a pretty pink shade that is.
    Great tag!
